Job Title: CNC Machinist (2nd Shift)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Established medical manufacturer located right outside of Charlotte is seeking a CNC Machinist to join their team! Great opportunity for someone seeking a long-term position on second shift with one of the leading manufacturers of medical instruments. If you have a strong background in manufacturing with specialized CNC machinist work this position would be perfect for you!

JOB TASKS:

  • Responsible for setting up and operating CNC Machines
  • Perform preventative maintenance on machines
  • Recommends process improvements to resolve any problems
  • Fill out proper paperwork per job
  • Receives process travelers, verify that the components are correct and can close them out
  • Problem solves any issues that affect production
  • Check parts per inspection plans
  • Verifies correct tools against tool sheet and program
  • Adjust tools to meet blueprint specifications
  • Adjust machine controls or control media
  • Coordinates with Quality department to ensure that units comply with specifications
  • Ensures work area, machine, tooling and parts are cleaned regularly and free from excess oil deposits; maintains a clean work area around assigned machines
  • Demonstrates ability to streamline processes to increase productivity and quality; ensures that production and prototype jobs are set up consistently and accurately in a timely manner
  • Sets up and operates machines on a trial run to verify accuracy of machine settings or programmed control data

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Technical certificate preferred
  • 2 or more years’ experience programming and operating CNC machines in a mid to heavy manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of basic math skills to include but not limited to adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, geometry, and algebra for calculating material fabrication
  • Working knowledge and understanding of CNC machines
  • Working knowledge of precision measuring equipment including but not limited to calipers, inside dimension/outside dimension (ID/OD) micrometers, depth gauges, and indicators
  • Ability to learn and adapt to changing technology
  • Can lift 50 pounds
